Jean Kamuf
Currently, I am exploring my lifelong dream of writing. After teaching students and educators for the past 32 years, I finally have the opportunity to pursue this dream. My plans are to work as a freelance writer and to resume writing a novel that has been in the works for many years. I am also staying busy with the small business that my husband and I started two years ago. We own and manage a successful apartment complex, and, despite the economy, we are also renovating and reselling houses.
As an educator, I taught in grades K-8 for 22 years. During that time, I wrote and received grants to motivate academically gifted students, to provide extra support for struggling readers, and to increase technology in my schools. Also, I became a certified trainer for Write More-Learn More and shared my knowledge with other teachers.
After teaching in the classroom for over two decades, I have spent the last ten years working with teachers as a Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Coordinator. In that capacity, I have trained teachers in technology (hardware and software), Assessment, Curriculum Development and Alignment, Best Practices, and Gifted Studies.
